Tucked away beneath the granite rocks of the Llŷn peninsula lies the enchanting village of Nant Gwrtheyrn. Take the twisting road down to the bottom of the secluded valley and gasp in awe as the Irish Sea opens out in front of you in a majestic breath-taking view. This is nostalgic splendor at its best…because behind what is now an elegant Welsh language and heritage centre developed to boost interest in the Welsh language and culture - with people from all over the world coming to learn Europe’s most ancient language – you will find some of the most magical legends and history that Wales can offer.

The magic continues to this day at Nant Gwrtheyrn, where despite renovation, the exterior has been left pretty much unchanged. Discover the once untold stories of the Nant through the heritage centre and chapel, or stay in one of the 24 Victorian houses in view of the old quarry site. This magnificent location is teeming with wildlife from choughs and peregrine falcons, a colony of wild goats to dolphins and seals in the bay. Enjoy peaceful coastal and woodland walks, or views from the private beach.

With its recent revamp the Nant has a modern function room catering for events, parties and business conferences, and it is thriving as a wedding location. The Alpine-like slope, once feared, is now accessible to coaches and a new track to the beach enables access for the first time for the less able as well as for kayaks and canoes for those who wish to absorb the wild Llŷn coastline. And for any adrenaline-seeking enthusiasts, the new downhill mountain bike track is recognised as one of the most challenging tracks in the world and has had visits by US champions in the sport. The track is open to specialist mountain- bike racing organisations, by special arrangement.

Caffi Meinir opens daily and is popular for Sunday lunches and evening meals. Enjoy a delicious lunch or taste a truly authentic afternoon Welsh tea with bara brith or a cacen gri, while soaking in the front row views of the sea on the outside deck.

Come and enjoy the truly timeless enchantment!
